Patient Information Form (PIF) illustration database

Commissioned by the Leiden University Medical Centre (LUMC), I made illustrations to inform children about the kind of treatment they’ll receive when they choose to participate in a scientific drug trial.
These children are given a Test Subject Information Form. The illustrations below accompany the text and provide children with a better understanding of what they can expect.

The Test Subject Information Form also refers to the comic ‘Anne and the scientific research on the Green-Nose Flu’.

Copyright illustrations
The illustrations may only be used to illustrate Dutch Test Subject Information Forms for minors, based on the Proefpersonen Informatie Formulieren voor minderjarigen formulier that has been developed by the DCRF workgroup PIF (based on a ZonMw grant awarded to health communication researcher Dr. P. Grootens-Wiegers).
No license has been purchased for use in non-Dutch Test Subject Information Forms and for any other use of the illustrations, whether printed, online, or in any other form. For any other of the illustrations, or if the illustrations need to be changed or modified, please contact illustrator Irene Cecile (www.irenececile.com, 06-36001150, irenececile@gmail.com). A new license will then be issued for a market-based user fee.
